Story 15

When I was about 17 i could relate to most things the author was talking about. the struggle of social anxiety consumed my life. i had panic attacks on a daily basis and I was always paranoid. I never thought of therapy, and I didn't believe in taking medication. I only thought of finding another way to help myself. I did find theatre. Theatre was my therapy.
The thing that stood out the most was something i already knew, but its very important. I am not the only one that has struggled with these issued.
A lot of days I still have problems. I struggle to talk on the phone or order food at a restaurant. but i know now that I can get through them.

Free write.

Theatre this weekend was very fun. Sunday was the last play for El Phantismo. It was also the last play for the seniors. Yes, we are doing a senior showcase but this was the last play with all grades. Before the show the seniors gave small speeches for the younger classmates. We gave advice for the years to come.
The show went really well. We got a 9 out of 10. That is not very common. The last time we got that score was for Tarzan my junior year. After the show we did strike. Strike is when we tear down the set, and clean the dressing rooms. That didn't take long. After strike is always a cast party. The cast parties are always fun and crazy. We ate, watched videos, talked, and watched a movie. A few played Twister, and some card games.

Story 10

People push each other's buttons all the time. They give someone a look, or say a comment. Some people know how to push certain peoples buttons enough to make them angry. I see this all the time. I see it in my home, and school. It's not really about the people that push the buttons but about the people that get annoyed and angry about their buttons being pushed. You have to ignore it, not get angry, when someone tries to irritate you. It just encourages them.
I have learned this lesson, but I'm not perfect. I still get angry when people push my buttons. I do a good job of ignoring them. I don't want to have them continue to do whatever they are doing. If you stop giving them the attention they want, they will get bored and move on.

Video 2- Steve Jobs

The main idea of the speech is that things happen for a reason. You may get fired from a job, or you think of quitting college, or maybe find out that you are dying. Steve Jobs says that you he doesn't regret any of the things he has decided or things that have happened to him, because life is limited and there is no time for regrets.
The most important thing about the topics is that what is ahead of you is your life, it is how it is suppose to be. You won't expect a lot of it, and it may be tough. Steve Jobs thought that head cancer. The doctors found out he did not have the cancer. Steve Jobs thought he was safe for a few more decades. He didn't make it that long. He didn't even make it a decade.
I think that Steve Jobs had a good idea. Things happen for a reason. I believe that's how it is.

Story 8

Many times when i am feeling bad, i wonder why. Why do I feel sad? i think, maybe it's because I watched a sad movie or read a sad part in a book, No one feels sad or mad or happy without thinking or experiencing something sad, mad, or happy. I am no different.
I can help someone by giving them a happy thought when they are sad. If you give them a good thought after a long day, maybe that comment will make them happier.

Story 7

What stood out the most was the trap. a lot of people focus on the problems they are having instead of the things that are happening around them. I do think people get trapped into the 90-10 trap. I know I do.
I will use this info to try and focus on other things. Things that are happening, instead of things that have happened/ might happen.

Story 6

This is important because people, like myself, over think things, they want answers but they can't get answers unless they calm their mind. Calming you mind can help find the answer. It comes out of nowhere and surprises you.
You can use this info when you are having a confusing hard time, and when your mind is full of questions and possible solutions, you can calm down and a solutions will appear.

Self-Reflection

I learned a lot about being organized and about myself. I could have started typing the papers out sooner. I procrastinated on that. I think I will get at least a B. I am very happy with how my project turned out.

Story 4

I thoughts the story was very helpful for me and others. It shows how the world is full of people who are going through a lot. but people are selfsih and only worry about themselves.
I can use this now and later in life. It's a great life lesson. We are not the world. There are so many things going on that make it the way it is. The good... but also the bad. I am not a major part of this world, humans are selfish, I am selfish when I have a problem, I think that i am the most important, that I am the only thing in this world that is having a hard time.  After a while I feel guilty, I have this small problem, when there are others, who have no home, food, or a family. I get a bad grade in math and I pout while there is a small child with no home and an empty stomach.

Story 3

I can better my life by listening and focusing. Focus on what someone is saying or doing. It's good to focus on things on around you and not what happened in the past.
Today I will try and really listen to others. I will try to break the habit of worrying about other things.

Story

I do not like conflict. The only time I will fight or argue back is when I feel strongly about something. When a small problem comes up, such as someone was talking in class while you were trying to listen, or my sister took my pencil, I usually ignore it and move on. Whats the point of fighting it? It will cause more problems when you could be doing something better?
I relate to the story because it showed I agree that unnecessary conflict just wastes time when you could be doing something else. I don't understand how people can constantly argue and bicker about everything. It makes them and everyone around them angry and negative.

My Weekend

My weekend was very busy but very fun. It started with me staying the night with my cousin. We watched movies and had a lot of good food. The next morning we had donuts. Around 12 I had to leave to go to work.
I work at the Albion Public Library. Every once in a while I have to work at a programs I have to work. Saturday we had a princess party. Me and the three other pages had to dress up as princesses. I was Cinderella. I had to dress up in an itchy costume and have my hair in a tight bun. There were little girls everywhere with looks of amazement at seeing 'real' princesses.
After the program I went home and waited for my boyfriend to pick me up for the West Noble play 'Anything Goes'. A lot of my friends Central Noble theatre came to see it. The night was filled with laughter, singing and good music.

School Uniforms: Yes or No?

Some people believe that uniforms are good because they are less of a distraction, because they don't create cliches. But that isn't true. Human create groups all the time. People gravitate towards people like them, who have the same hobbies, interests, music and movie taste. Uniforms, I think, just make that slightly harder to do, but it still happens.

Schools should not have uniforms because normal clothing has the ability to express who you are and be comfortable. Your clothes can bring you to people that understand you and you have the same interests. It makes you comfortable. Uniforms could make some people uncomfortable because the uniforms aren't they clothes they normally wear. Why make a student uncomfortable? It will essentially make the student do worse in school.

"Carpe Diem"

"Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary."
That is the biggest quote in my favorite movie Dead Poets Society. It is a 1989 movie with the late Robin Williams, Robert Sean Leonard, and Ethan Hawke in it. Its a movie about an all boys boarding school. The school gets a new, young English teacher, Mr.Keating. Mr. Keating isn't like most of the teachers there. He shows how passionate he is about English, especially poetry, so he tries to get his students to love it as well. He also teaches them to "Seize the day".

Carpe Diem is the Latin saying for "Seize the day". Sometimes people just drift through life, but to seize the day means to grab on to it and live. Do your best and find who you are.

A Bus and Train Collide Leaving Ten Dead.

In west Texas there was a prison bus transporting 20 people-12 inmates, 2 correctional officers and 1 staff member- to a prison in El Paso. As the bus was going down Interstate 20 they collided with a train full of UPS packages. The article doesn't tell details about what exactly happened but you can see the link below.

The pictures show the prison bus on its side and the train full of UPS packages scattered everywhere. 8 prisoners and the 2 correctional officers were killed in the accident. The other 5 people were in serious condition. The UPS company told CNN that they would try and get the packages shipped to the right places as soon as possible.
